Mary M. Reeves was a daughter of Thomas Reeves and his first wife, Mary Feurt. Her mother died when she was only a baby. Her father remarried and moved the family to Delaware County, Indiana in the late 1820s. There she married Montgomery M. Crouch, on 25 June 1837. A few years later the young family moved to Washington County, Iowa, along with her father Thomas Reeves and his family.

Montgomery M. Crouch and Mary (Reeves) Crouch had the following children:

Malintha Crouch (1838-1840)
Clarintha Crouch (1839-1871)
Mary Jane Crouch (1841-1935)
Thomas Alexis Crouch (1844-1930)
Montgomery Crouch (b. 1846, died young)
John Perry Crouch (1847-1916)
Elijah Crouch (b. 1849)

Mary M. (Reeves) Crouch died about 1851 [she signed a deed in Sept. 1850, and her husband had remarried March 1852]. No headstone has been found for her but it seems fairly certain that she would have been buried in the Custer Cemetery, where her father and step-mother are buried, right next to the M. M. Crouch and Thomas Reeves property in Washington County, Iowa.
