She married Christopher Coonrod at Elkader Feb. 11, 1897 and he preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1914. She married Ben Schiess at Manchester, April 2, 1917. They farmed in the Lamont and Dundee area until his death June 26, 1952.
Mrs. Schiess lived in Lamont Until 1958 when she went to the nursing home in Manchester.
She is survived by three sons, Sam Schiess, Waterloo; Newton Coonrod, Canada and Frank Coonrod, Dundee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sisters,, five brothers, one son and one daughter.
