Jeanette Melba Johnston Boweter, age 87, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died January 1, 2007 in Kanab, Utah.
Born September 29, 1919 in Midvale, Utah to Joseph Richard and Rosella Fanny Jensen Johnston Hopkins. Married Edgar Sorensen, later divorced. Married William Gardner Boweter, January 12, 1944 later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, September 17, 1957.
She served as Primary President, and Relief Society President in the Cannon Ward, Cannon Stake.
Survived by her children, Fred (Diana) Sorensen of Bothwell; Bill Boweter of West Valley City; Donna (Melvin) Harris of Bountiful; Linda (John) Clark of Kanab; Sue (Jim) Cullis of Murray; brother, Joe Johnston; two sisters, Fran Moran and Florence Holder Woolsey; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grand-children; 21 great-great-grand-children. Preceded in death by her husband, and daughter, Jean Clark.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5th, 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 29th Ward, 6300 S. 700 W. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, and one hour prior to services at the church.
