Daily Tribune, Johnstown, PA- January 23, 1904 :

Elizabeth Hildebrand Spangler, relict of George Spangler, Sr., whose death
occurred just one week ago today, died at her late home in Upper Yoder Twp. at 2
o'clock this afternoon. The cause of death was an attack of pneumonia
originating in the nervous collapse occasioned by the death of her husband. The
deceased was born in Marietta, Lancaster County, seventy four years ago. In
1843 she was united in marriage with George Spangler also of Marietta, who soon
after brought her to Johnstown. The Deceased is survived by the following
brothers and sister: John Hildebrand of Butler, father of William Hildebrand,
formerly of this city; George and Annie, living in the Hildebrand homestead in
Marietta and Mrs. Susan Eckman, relict of John Eckman of Lancaster. Besides
these Mrs. Spangler is survived by 3 daughters and 3 sons - Mrs. Hezekiah
Scritchfield of Swissvale; Mrs. Mary Champeno and Edward White and Benjamin
Spangler of Braddock; George Spangler, Jr, Constable of Upper Yoder Twp. and
Harry Spangler of Southside. The Rev. W. A. Shipman of First Lutheran Church
will conduct the funeral services at the late home of the deceased at 2 o'clock
Tuesday afternoon. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
