Ogden – Marva Lee Ward Morse was called home after her quiet 11 year struggle with Leukemia on August 30, 2012. She was born September 29, 1934 in Logan, Utah to Louise Zollinger and Melvin Z. Ward. She married DeVon Morse on August 22, 1952; they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

She experienced many ward callings over the years and served in the Ogden Temple. The Inner City mission to the Ogden 4th Ward she and DeVon enjoyed, but she especially loved the mission they served in Durban, South Africa for the Church Education System.

Marva believed in family strength and its perpetuation. She facilitated this concept by elaborately celebrating every holiday (Arbor Day excluded) with a family party. She spent innumerable hours making invitations and decorations, blazing many a trail into the realm of family bonding.

Marva is survived by her husband, DeVon; children, Michael D. (Georgia), Steven E. (Dawn), David M. (Joan), Dee W. (Kim), Janean (Roy) Dietzman, Nathan J. (Nina); 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Jayne) Ward, Ferris Ward, Patricia (Kent) Parker, Jaquelyn Burger and Janet (Steven) Woolsey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the West Weber 1st Ward, 4100 West 900 South. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
