Martha Ellen Patterson, 92, Douglas, GA, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. Ms. Patterson was born in Berrien County, GA on November 4, 1919 to the late Robert Haynes and Mary Ellen Griffin Wheless.
She was preceded in death by her husband: W. S. Patterson and daughter: Helen Johnson.
Survivors include: sons: Cam (Pam) Patterson, Jacksonville, FL and Sam (Hilary) Patterson, Douglas, GA; daughter: Becky (Ben) Bathen, Jacksonville, FL; son in law: Chuck Johnson, Dallas TX; grandchildren: Emily (Jason) Salzer, Nashville, TN, Rebecca Johnson, Charleston, SC, Melissa Bathen, Jacksonville, FL, Josh Patterson, Athens, GA and Chloe Patterson, Douglas, GA; great grandchild: Campbell Salzer and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Douglas City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
