Walter M. Magruder Dies of Long Illness
Walter M. Magruder, 63, of Gaithersburg, Md., former member of the Maryland State Legislature and an organizer of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, died at his home yesterday after a year's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Grace Methodist Church, Gaithersburg, with burial in Forest Oak Cemetery. The Rev. William Elliott, pastor of the church, will officiate.
A retired farmer, Mr. Magruder was born at Travillah, Md., the son of the late Judge Winfield S. Magruder of Orphan's Court. He was elected in 1934 for a four-year term in the Legislature.
In addition to his activities as a legislator and farm official, he was a member of the board of directors of the Maryland-Virginia Milk Association and of the Anti-Saloon League.
He is survived by three daughters, three sons, and a sister.
