Charlie was a graduate of West Fulton High School, Class of 1945, where he played football, baseball and basketball. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. Charlie was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and co-owner of Westside Transfer in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alton, Julian, George and Grady and his sisters, Margaret and Juanita.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Helen Barnett of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Alan Chambers of Newnan; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Luci Barnett of Smyrna, David and Kimberly Barnett of Watkinsville; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and June Barnett of Atlanta; grandchildren, Chaz and Carla, Justin and Melanie, Michelle, Nikki and Jesse, Tyler and great grandchildren, Jasper and Ally.
