Corinth - CARRIE MAE CROCKETT LEDBETTER, 90, homemaker, died on September 19, 2006 at Country Cottage Assisted Living. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. September 22 at McPeters Funeral Directors. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday September 23 at First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Henry Cemetery.

Carrie Mae McAmis was born on March 25, 1916, the daughter of James Clay and Ollie Mae Holley McAmis. She was a graduate of Corinth High School and Mississippi State College for Women. She taught in the schools of Macon and Corinth. She was a life long member of First United Methodist Church. There she was Superintendent of the Junior Department at Sunday School, Bible teacher, and an elected member of the chuch's official board. She was an active member of United Methodist Woman and Circle One. She was a former member of Magnolia Hospital Auxiliary, Fin de Siecle Study Club, Corinth Garden Club, and Corinth Music Club.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Gordon Crockett, Sr.; her sister Mary Bess Ledbetter; her son, Clay McAmis Crockett, Sr.; her infant grandson, Adam Crockett; and her second husband, Ben Arthur Ledbetter, Sr. She is survived by her son Harry (Bobbye) Gordon Crockett, Jr. of Germantown; her daughter-in-law Carla Ann Crockett of Corinth, and step-daughter, Mary Laurie Pritchett of Corinth; two step-sons, Ben (Debbie) A. Ledbetter, Jr. of Hamden, CT and Thomas Frank Ledbetter of Corinth, a brother James C. McAmis, Jr. of Woodland, CA; nine grandchildren Harry (Regina) G. Crockett, III, John (Carri) Lee Crockett, Clay (Brittany) McAmis Crockett, Jr., Carrie Ann Crockett, Mary Bess Pritchett, Joseph A. Ledbetter, Charles Ledbetter, Emma Ledbetter and Lucie Ledbetter; and one great-granddaughter Abigail Rose Crockett.
