Mary (Schnell) Kalies, age 96, of Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute.
She was born November 12, 1907 in Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Yernesek. She married Effner "Butch" Schnell and he preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Herbert Kalies who preceded her in death in 1986.
Mary owned and operated Schnell's Bar in Asketon for 14 vears. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Askeaton and the Wrightstown Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her children: Ron Schnell, Palm Springs, CA; Buzz (Beno) Schnell, Brillion; Janis (Red) Willems, Asketon; her stepchildren: Herbert (Ruth) Kalies, Mountain; Jack (Mary) Kalies, De Pere; Glenn (Grace) Kalies, Forest Junction; Curtis (Nancy) Kalies, Appleton; and Karen (Gary) Dille of IL; eight grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Butch, her husband Herbert, two stepson: Ron and Ken Kalies; and two brothers and sisters-in-law: George (Adeline) Yernesek and Joseph (Eveline) Yernesek.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Asketon. The Rev. Al Geiser will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Asketon on Thursday, September 9 from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. The Wieting Funeral Home of Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
