Gloria (Nanny) Marie Amato was born January 8, 1926 and left for her Heavenly reward on Monday, August 27, 2012 from her home in Santa Fe, surrounded by her family. Nanny was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joe Amato Sr., granddaughter Heather Amato, parents Andrew (Chic) and Bertha Best, brothers, Robert and A.L. Best, and sisters, Bessie Farmer, Evelyn Graustein, and Bertha Mallia.

She is survived by Daughter Lillie Amato McFarland (Gary), sons Robert Amato (Dedra), Joseph Amato Jr.(Barbara); grandchildren Staci McFarland Meier (David), Shawnn McFarland (Kristi), Angela Spurgeon (Damon), Tara Tudor (Josh), Joseph Amato III, Michael Amato (Jennifer), Andy Amato (Gayle), Renay Zamora ( Kyle); great grandchildren Gauge, Sydni, Shelbie, and Jayke McFarland, Lyndzi Moody, Kehlan and Kaelob Converse, Milla Tudor, Raylin Spurgeon, Zane and Zoey Amato, Ethan and Adam Harris, Sam Herrington, Ruby Zamora, Persephone Amato, sister Joy Amato and many nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be from 6:00-9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 on Monday September 3, 2012 at Crowder Funeral Home 851 Hwy 517 West in Dickinson, Texas and Service to be held Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Hwy. 6 Hitchcock. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Gloria Amato may be made to The Knights of Columbus Santa Fe Chapter 1110 Hwy 6 Santa Fe, TX 77510.
