Balmes, Mary O. (nee Reavis), of Atlanta, previously of Fayetteville and Milledgeville, GA, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away August 27 at the age of 81. She was born March 6, 1931 in Rockton Township, IL, to Verble & Marie Reavis. Mary and her husband of 59 years, Francis, were members of Our Lady of Humility Church when the family lived in Waukegan. After moving to Georgia, she and Francis were active members and and lay ministers at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City & Sacred Heart Church in Milledgeville, GA. Mary loved to dance; she enjoyed gardening, bird watching and family gatherings. Mary retired from State of Georgia Rehabilitation Services in 1991. She is survived by her children, Ken (Virginia), Claude (Deborah), Connie and Celeste; her grandchildren, Gabriel (Becca), Douglas (Samantha), Sam, Jessica and Ethan; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Madge (Reavis) Nelson of Janesville, WI, and her aunt, Florence Bakke of Salem, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her son, Kevin; her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Interment in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
