Celina Margarita C de Baca Strand, age 91, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 joyfully and with great faith. Celina was at home surrounded by family her Grandson Johnny's birthday. Celina was born to Luis Maria C de Baca and Florentina Grzlelachoski. Florentina passed away when Celina was only 4 years old. With much help from her aunts Fabiola C de Baca Gilbert, Virginia C de Baca Branch and Amelia Grzlelachoski Clancy she was raised on the family ranch by her father and Grandfather Graciano C de Baca for the next four years until her father Luis married Antonia Garcia who became her "Mama". Together, Luis and Antonia taught Celina the many things a "Rancherita" needs to know, making cheese, ristras, drying fruits and vegetables especially green chile. Celina could ride, rope, brand, dance, prepare meat for the table from their animals, and much more. Most of all, she was taught how to live her life loving God and accepting His will in all things. Celina counted her blessings every night. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be heldn on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Mission, 1000 26th Ave NE, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment to follow in Newkirk Cemetery, Newkirk, NM.
