Ralph William Gumaer, 68 of Oran Road, Manlius, died yesterday in University Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Cato, Mr. Gumaer resided in Manlius for the past 18 years. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Gumaer was a member of Pleasant Valley Society and Oran Community Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Aileen Stubbs Gumaer, three daughters. Mrs Dorothy Arp of Catskill, Mrs. Barbara McDermott of Delphi Falls, and Mrs. Ermajean Russell of Denison, Texas. Four sons, Bruce of Manlius, Gordon of Denison, Texas, Curtis of Belleflower, California and Robert Gumaer of Norwalk, California. Six sisters, Mrs. Elba Griebno of Baldwinsville, Mrs. Dorothey Booth of New Hartford, Mrs. Bessie McQueen of Vestal, Mrs. June Prudy of Bernhard Bay, Mrs. Anna Calkins of Cato and Mrs. Esther Jones of Syracuse. Two brothers, Albert of Industry and William J. Gumear of Meridian and 18 grandchildren.

Services will be at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Goodfellow and Newell Funeral Home,Manlius. The Rev. Leonard F. Basford officiating. Burial will in Meridian Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9.m. today at the funeral home.
