Mr. Cunningham grew up in Weld County. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Weld County. He was a cabinet maker and machinist. He began saddle making in the early 1960s and as at one time only one of a small number of custom saddle makers in the U. S. He retired in the early 1980s.
He was a life member of DAV and VFW.
Survivors are a son, Larry of Norcross, Ga; a sister, Frances Bailey of Greeley; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services and inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
