Richard Girard Kreinsen

Richard Girard Kreinsen, 80, of Washington, DC, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at the home of his beloved companion of 45 years, Alice J. Gayley.
He was born in Boston, MA, on June 24, 1932, the youngest son of Charles L. and Mary (Griffin) Kreinsen.
Mr. Kreinsen was a Korean War veteran having served as an artillery surveyor with the U. S. Army.
He graduated from the Boston College High School, Class of 1949, and Boston College with a B. A. in Economics in 1954. Mr. Kreinsen was a Survey Statistician with the U. S. Bureau of the Census, Housing Division, for 33 years. Earlier, he spent ten years with the State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Louis G., Charles J., and Warren F., and one nephew, David.
He is survived by one brother, Donald (Loretta), of Rochester, New York; a sister-in-law, Rosemary (Charles) Kreinsen of Bohemia, L. I., NY; and Alice J. Gayley of Washington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Jane Kreinsen-King, Hingham, MA; Carolyn Kreinsen, MD., Quincy, MA; Suzanne Kreinsen (Kevin Leary), Westwood, MA; Michael Kreinsen (Gail), Houston, TX; Kevin Kreinsen, Bohemia, L. I., NY; Charles (Robin) Kreinsen, Rochester, NY; Eugene (Janet) Kreinsen, Rochester, NY; Marianne (David) Ogden, Honeoye Falls, NY; Elyse (Steven) Gefell, Mechanicsville, VA; and Elizabeth (Chris) Tang, Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation was on August 26. The funeral mass was held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church on August 27. Internment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA, on Cape Cod.
