William J. Breen, 60, died at his residence, 700 Madison avenue this morning at 7 o'clock.
Mr. Breen was born September 28, 1869, a son of William and Mary Mellody Breen. He married Miss Lena Downey of this city, who survives him.
Surviving besides the widow are five children, John, William, Stanley, Mary and Johanna, all of this city, two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lee (Ann) Smith, of Syracuse and two nieces, Miss Mary McCormick and Mrs. Isaac Eldridge of Ogdensburg.
The body was removed to the home of his son, John Breen, 925 Mansion avenue, where services will be conducted Thursday morning at 7:30. A requiem mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame church at 8. Burial will be made in Notre Dame Cemetery.
