Brookville, Indiana--Lucille Byrd Thomas, age 79, of Brookville, Indiana passed away at her residence, Tuesday Aug. 28, 2012 following a short illness.
She was born Jul. 4, 1933, in Oneida, Clay Co., Ky. to Claude & Lita Allen Byrd. Lucille had lived in Brookville for 45 years & was a member of The New Point Christian Church.
She is survived by 3 sons: Steve Thomas, Charles (Diane) Thomas & Russell (Jody) Thomas all of Brookville, Indiana, 3 daughter: Regina (Alonzo) Gross, Robin Sizemore of Alexandria, Ky., & Rebecca (Wayne) Meyer of Brookville, Indiana. Grandchildren: Steven & William Thomas, Greg & Rodney Gross, Angie Chitwood, Cody & Taylor Thomas, Andrew & Thomas Meyer, Megan Sizemore, Bella. Great Grandchildren: Mikayla Thomas, Special Blessings Ryan & Sara Mortashed. Sisters & Brothers: Larry (Janie) Byrd, Earl (Donna) Byrd of Brookville, Indiana, Cindy Rose Deaton, Cincinnati, Ohio, Carolyn (Floyd) Maddix, Cleves, Ohio, Charlene (Bill) Adams, Laurel, Indiana.
Lucille was proceeded in death by her husband Dewey "Tank" Thomas, brothers Levi, Vernon, Sidney, Randall, & Kenneth Byrd.
Friends may call on the family Thursday Aug. 30, 2012 from 4-9 P.M. at the Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana & Friday 10-11 A.M. at The New Point Christian Church, 1815 S Co Rd 800 E (Highway 46) New Point, Indiana. Minister Mark Vice will officiate the funeral service at 11 A.M. Friday.
Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, Franklin Co., Indiana.
Pallbearers include: William Thomas, Steven Thomas, Andrew Meyer, Thomas Meyer, Greg Gross & Cody Thomas.
Memorial donations may be directed to the New Point Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
