Pioneer Matron Dies in Carson
Mrs. Janet Stelle Browne, pioneer western Nevada resident, died this morning at her home on South Fall street following a long illness. She was seventy-seven years old. She was born in the old town of Mottsville in Carson Valley. Most of her life was spent in Carson Valley and in 1918 she moved to Carson where she has resided ever since. She is survived by two brothers, Peter Van Syckle of Carson and Oscar Van Syckle of Reno, four nieces, Elona and Kathryn Van Syckle and Laura Harris of Carson and Thelma Van Syckle of Reno, two nephews, Edward Van Syckle of Reno and Ellis Van Syckle of Carson. Funeral services will be held at the Capitol mortuary Saturday at 2 P M, with Rev M J Hersey officiating. Interment will be in Lone Mountain cemetery.
