John Wesley Grimes, Union Bridge,
died in the Maryland University Hospital,
Baltimore, Tuesday, May 23, 1933.
He had been admitted to the institution
on Monday, suffering from blood posion,
the result of his having stepped on a nail.
The deceased was aged 76 years. He
was a son of the late Levi and Julia
Grimes and for a period of fourteen
years had been flagman at the railroad
gates in Union Bridge.

Surviving are
his widow; six children, Glenn Grimes,
Baltimore; Welker Grimes, Bessemer,
Pa.; Mrs. Roy Stoner, New Windsor;
Russell Grimes, Union Bridge; Mrs.
David Rinehart, Union Bridge, and Miss
Ruth Grimes, at home; one sister, Mrs.
S. H. Miller, Baltimore, and one brother,
Frank Grimes, Frederick, Md.

The funeral was held today with services at
the home at 2 o'clock. Elder Daniel
Engler officiated. Interment was made
in Bethel cemetery, Sam's Creek. Charles
Gray, William Colb, Preston B. Roop,
John Ruffington, Edward Devilbiss and
C. E. Easterday were the pallbearers.
D. D. Hartzler and Sons, funeral directors.
