DEATH OF JOHN BRIGGLE
Old Time Jasper County Resident Passed Away
John Briggle died Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock of typhoid fever at his home at the corner of Seventh and Bois d' Arc streets, aged 37 years.
Deceased came to Jasper county from Pennsylvania when a child. He has been living on a farm near Avilla for a number of years, and only recently sold the farm and moved to town. He has been part of the time engaged in running a threshing machine. He was a member of Sarcoxie lodge of Modern Woodmen, and carried $2,000 in that order. He leaves a wife and five children. He also leaves four brothers in this vicinity, some of whom are prominent in school work.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dudman Cemetery, nine miles southeast of Carthage, where the interment occurred. The deceased had the esteem of many old neighbors and a wide circle of friends, whose sympathy goes out to the bereaved family.
