Effie K. Lawler Dies Today at 88
Mrs. Effie K. Lawler, 88, a resident of Boone for many years, died early this morning at the Oak Park Manor Nursing Home where she had been a resident almost eight years.
Mrs. Lawler had lived many years in the Advance and Jamestown communities. She moved to Lebanon in the early 1950's. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Jamestown.
Born in Bedford county, Virginia on February 15, 1887, she was the daughter of John and Ann(Overstreet) Woods and was the last of a family of seven children. She was married March 16, 1907 in Danville, Illinois to Claude G. Lawler, who died July 25, 1968.
She is survived by one son Elbert H. Lawler of Michigan City; a granddaughter and three great-grandsons. Four brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Russell and Hitch funeral Home in Lebanon with Rev. W. Wayne Yeater officiating. Internment will be in the 100F cemetery at Jamestown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
