GASTONIA ~ Hazeline Benfield Beaty, 81, of Gaston Manor, passed away Aug. 26, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Alice Mayes Benfield.
Hazeline was a loving caretaker to many and treasured time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed reading the Bible and playing bingo.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Wayne Beaty and wife Wanda of Cramerton, Linda Beaty Cloninger of Belmont, Deborah Beaty Perry and husband Michael of Gastonia, Dow Edwin Beaty "DoBeaty" and girlfriend Sissy Brady of Lowell; sisters, Margie Jolley and husband Jack of Clover, Doris Brigman of Sanford; grandchildren, Spence Huffstetler and wife Kelly of Raleigh, Ashley Huffstetler Campbell and husband Russell of Raleigh, Jerimy William Beaty of Belmont, Shawn Beaty and wife Stacy of Bessemer City; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Huffstetler, Lily Kate Huffsterler, Henry Campbell, Caroline Campbell all of Raleigh, Kaelin and Rylan Beaty of Bessemer City and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Cabe Beaty; brothers, J.R. Benfield and Mabel Burris and an infant sister.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Bumgardner Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors, Belmont.
Interment will be in Moores UMC Church Cemetery, Charlotte.
McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont is serving the Beaty family.
