Former Stamford Youth Is Killed In Fall From Pole
Rites were held in Anson at 4 PM Sunday for Jimmy V. Green, 20, who was killed in a fall from a utility pole abut 12:30 PM Friday. Green was working on a pole near the Abilene Country Club for Williams Construction Company at the time of the mishap.
Rev. Dan Royal of Abilene was assisted by Rev. H. S. Hinson of Stamford in the services conducted at First Baptist Church. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Green was born July 17, 1942 at Stamford and graduated from the local high school in 1960. He married Judy Victory at Stamford October 9, 1961. The couple had lived in various towns over the area as Green had worked first for L and P Construction Company and later for the Williams firm. They had been living in Abilene only a short time.
Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Green, of Stamford, and a grandfather, W. W. Green of Avoca, the widow and the eight month old baby survive.
