HERE OVER 55 YEARS
DEATH OF MRS. J. ALBRIGHT
Long-Time David City Resident Dies in Omaha
Death came to Mrs. Louise Mary Albright, 84, widow of John Albright, Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2:35 p.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Dupin, Omaha. Her last illness was of three weeks’ duration, and was caused by heart trouble and a stroke of paralysis.
David City was Mrs. Albright’s home for over 55 years, she having come here from Pennsylvania in 1885, two years after her marriage to Mr. Albright. Mr. Albright, who died October 8, 1936, was a pioneer jeweler and watch maker in David City. Mrs. Albright continued her residence in David City after her husband’s death until two years ago when she went to Omaha to live with her daughter.
Mrs. Albright’s maiden name was Louise Mary Broghammer. Born August 22, 1859 in Treiberg, Germany, she was 24 years of age when she came to the United States and to Allentown, Pa., to become the bride of Mr. Albright, who had preceded her to this country.
The three sons and three daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Albright are surviving, the sons being Paul J., David City; Charles F., Portland, Ore.; Dr. James H., Columbus; the daughters, Mrs. Josephine Otto and Mrs. Amelia Dupin, Omaha and Mrs. Henrietta Mack, Petersburg. Mrs. Albright leaves a brother and sister living in Germany.
Rev. William A. Murphy will have charge of funeral services which will be held this (Thursday) morning at 9:30 o’clock in St. Mary’s Catholic church, David City, with burial in St. Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers will be Albert Bongers, J. F. Bastar, B. H. Eiting, John Birkel, C. M. Humlicek and John Moran.
Born and reared in the Catholic faith to become a member of the church when a young girl, Mrs. Albright remained true to her church, in her belief and faithful attendance at services. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society for many years. Calm and self possessed in her demeanor and poise Mrs. Albright was a mother, wife and friend of much worth. She was a kind neighbor, ever mindful to the needs of others.
