Christopher Columbus Harrell, 72, of 320 S. Dawson Street, died in a local hospital early Monday morning after a lingering illness. His only survivor is a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Allen Lamb of Raleigh. His wife, who died two years ago, was Mrs. Nancy McVade Allen Harrell. Funeral services will be held at the Mitchell Funeral Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Dr. F. Orion Mixon, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood. Pallbearers will be: John Grimes Allen, W. Ed Carmichael, W. D. Martin, Sr., Gerald Shor, E. B. Dixon and R. E. Atkins.
