Edgar Lewis Southerland, 78, of the Maxey's Valley community died Wednesday at his home after an illness. He was a mechanic and had driven a bus for the Lincoln County school system.
Survivors include four daughters, Mabel Carey and Mrs. Luther (Dolly) Simpson, both of Danville. Mrs. Joe (Patricia) McCowan of Stanford and Margaret Maxey of Covington; a son, Eugene Southerland of Hustonville; a sister, Alma Burger of Junction City; 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Curtis Evans, Don Simpson, Carl Simpson, Jimmy Denson and Henley Pike.
In addition to survivors listed in Thursday's The Advocate-Messenger, he is survived by his stepmother, Offey Southerland.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Moreland, by Edgar Terrell. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
