David Hartt Locklin passed away in Wallingford, CT on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the age of 83, due to cardiac-pulmonary failure. He was born to the late Archie and Helen Locklin, of Pontiac, Michigan. . . A graduate of Alleghany College, majoring in Theater, he went on to obtain an MFA from Yale. He specialized in theater lighting and scenic design – installing one of the first lighting dimmer systems in the Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater, while working for Century Lighting. He went on to form Theater Techniques, Inc., located in Hamden, and then his own technical theater consulting business.
His career in the theater was interrupted 27 years ago when his wife suffered a spinal cord injury and he took on the responsibility of being her primary care giver. He amazed family and friends with his selflessness, dedication, loyalty, commitment and love for his family.
Besides the theater, he had a love for model trains, landscaping, and technology. But his greatest love was for his wife, daughter, and granddaughters. A private service was held at 2135 Chapel - 13 Oct 12.
