Erma Dressel, age 90, former longtime resident of rural Delano, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.
She was born Sept. 29, 1921, to Bill and Lydia Bingenheimer of Hanover.
In 1957, Erma married Clarence Dressel and moved to the farm in Delano, where they lovingly raised their daughter, Linda.
Erma was a lifetime member of the Hanover United Methodist Church, where she shared her gift of music by serving as the pianist/organist for over 60 years. In addition to music, she loved animals, and cared for many pets. Erma enjoyed baking, cake decorating, gardening, and caring for her home and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence.
Erma is survived by her daughter, Linda Berg (Ed Hockensmith III) of Champlin; nieces Diane (Jeff) Loven of Dassel; Barb (Ron) Piepenburg of Litchfield; nephew Doug (Dana) Varner of Greenfield; sister Arlene Poirier of Litchfield; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
The funeral service took place Sunday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, with a visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Interment was at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Delano.
