Anna Catherine Tauscher, 84, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother left this earth on Saturday, Aug.25, 2012.

Anna was born in Miltown, S.D., on November 28, 1928, to John Antone Behrend and Katherine Pauline (Schlimgen) Behrend. Anna's family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, on Labor Day of 1936. Anna attended St. Margaret's Grade School and graduated from Blackfoot High School.

On April 7, 1947, Anna married the love of her life, Louis A. Tauscher. Louis "Fish" and Anna "Toots" spent their honeymoon in New York City where they appeared on the Honeymoon Hour which was broadcast nationally on the radio for all of their family to hear. In 1949 Louis and Anna moved to Anaconda, where they lived for 54 years, raising nine children. In 2003 they moved back to Blackfoot. Anna and Louis celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past April.

Anna is survived by her husband, Louis A. Tauscher of Blackfoot, Idaho; sons, Michael L. (Diane) Tauscher of Blackfoot, Idaho, John A. (Donna) Tauscher of Colstrip, Paul J. (Glenda Jo) Tauscher of Houston, Texas, Thomas A. (Jodie) Tauscher of Hardin, and James A. (Christine) Tauscher of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughters, Barbara A. (Bob) Bengtson of Butte, Montana, Helen L. Tauscher of Omaha, Nebraska, Mary T. (James) Scott of Roy, Utah and Catherine J. Mullen of Blackfoot, Idaho; 29 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Blaine) Garner of Sunset, Utah; and countless brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Patrick Mullen; father, John Behrend; mother, Katherine Behrend; brothers, Mathew, Fredrick, Leo, Joe and Chuck Behrend; sisters, Marie Brown, Sally Bischoff and Rita Bartausky.

Anna never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her generosity, good cooking and her overwhelming love for her family and friends. Heaven is no longer missing an angel, but we are missing ours.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug.29, 2012, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 584 W. Sexton in Blackfoot. A Rosary Service will be held at

6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.28, 2012, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.

Family will meet with friends and relatives until 9 p.m. following the Rosary on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Internment will follow funeral services at the Grove City Cemetery.
