Elwood Fryer
Former Poulsbo resident Elwood Fryer, 84, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Feb. 20, 1999, at IHS At Parkmoor, in Colorado Springs.
He was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Seattle. He lived in Poulsbo from 1970 to 1998.
On Sept. 14, 1938, he married Eunice R. Klatt.
Mr. Fryer had worked for the Department of Agriculture as a specialist.
He became a master Mason on June 29, 1954. He was a member of the Warren G. Harding Lodge 280 in Poulsbo, and served as master of the lodge in 1986. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, and served in many Masonic organizations including Order of the Eastern Star; The Royal Order of Scotland; Order of the Amaranth; and The York Rite (Knights Templar). He also served as a grandfather to Job's Daughters (Bethel 20).
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Parr and Bonnie E. Nietz; a brother, Douglass; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was Feb. 24 at the Manitou Lodge in Manitou, Colo.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mountain View Mortuary in Colorado Springs.

Elwood B. Fryer, 84, died Feb. 20, 1999, at a local care center. He was an entomologist and plant pathologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Fryer was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Seattle. He was married Sept. 14, 1938, to Eunice Ruth Klatt. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Shirley Parr and Bonnie S. Nietz; a brother, Douglas M.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mantou Lodge 68, 455 El Paso Blvd., Manitou Springs, Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.
