Sarah was the daughter of David and Sarah (Wilson) Hoyt. She was captured during the massacre of 1704 in Deerfield and taken to Canada. She married Ebenezer Nims while in captivity and had a son, Ebenezer Jr.

They were redeemed and went back to Deerfield to join Ebenezer's brother John in rebuilding the home Godfrey had originally erected.

She and Ebenezer had children; Ebenezer Jr., David, Elisha, Moses and Amasa.

She is believed to be buried in the cemetery in Old Deerfield.
