AILLAUD FUNERAL SET FOR TODAY
San Diego Pioneer, Beloved by All Who Knew Him, Will Be Buried This Afternoon.
Many San Diegans who were friends of Henry H Aillaud will go to the Merkeley chapel at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon to attend the funeral services for that pioneer citizen who died Thursday night at his home, 1446 Columbia Street. These services will be conducted under the auspices of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Henry H Aillaud had resided in San Diego for 39 years. He was born in Los Angeles 50 years ago and had lived in Southern California since that time.
Few San Diegans had a wider acquaintance or more intimate friends than Henry Aillaud, better known to those who knew him best as "Hank" Aillaud. He counted amoung his dearest friends many San Diego newspaper men.
He was always of a cheerful, happy disposition and ranked high among the amateur fisherman and hunters of this region. For many years he was an engineer on the Santa Fe railroad, running between this city and Los Aneles, Some of the oldest railroaders in this part of the state were among his warmest friends.
A few months ago Aillaud was stricken with an incurable ailment of the throat. His life was dispaired of from the first, but he made a brave fight and bore his suffering with remarkable fortitude. He maintained his old-time cheerfulness to the last and seldom compained.
Surviving him are his widow, Theresa Aillaud, a son, Harold H, his mother, Mrs. Anna Aillaud of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Casteig and Mrs. A.F. Wright of San Diego and three brothers, Emil J and Frank of Los Angeles, and Charles M. of San Diego.
