Lillie Lovelace Cassell, 91, of Bassett, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at her home.
She was born April 12, 1918, in Henry County to John William Lovelace and Florence Etta Draper Lovelace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Woodrow Cassell.
She was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church, where she had been a member of the Golden Agers and a member and the treasurer of the Lillie McCrane Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Cassell Hardesty of Bassett; two sisters, Elizabeth Rorrer of Bassett and Mary Blevins of Collinsville; a brother, Charles Lovelace of Collinsville; three foster sisters, Selma Gusler of Newberry, Fla., Jacqueline Smith of Gainesville, Fla., and Genieve Via Stone of Collinsville; and a grandson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett Chapel, with Dr. G.H. Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
