Henry Lonzo Adcox, Jr. died at the age of 75.
Henry Adcox completed carpenter apprentice training in Amarillo, Tx, in 1952; completed Amarillo Barber College, Amarillo, Tx, in 1955; acquired vocational education at Southwest Texas State University in Occupational Education and Texas Teacher Certification in vocational-trades and industries in 1975. His varied career activities included: Serving in the U.S. Army; Barber/Concessionaire at Sheppard Air Force Base; Journeyman Carpenter through Carpenter Union Locals #665 and #14, Teacher of CVAE program in North East Independent School District, and Teacher of Building Trades in Poteet Independent School District. He retired in June 1990 from Carpenter Union Local #14. Henry Adcox was a member of Carpenter Union Local #14, and served as Vice President from 1988-1990. He was an instructor in the San Antonio Carpenter Apprentice Program from 1972-1979. He served as Deacon at Shepherd of the Hills Church of God from 2001-2002.
Other achievements included building numerous residences in Amarillo, Wichita Falls, and San Antonio, and participating in volunteer activities such as constructing the children's pavilion at Hemisfair Plaza.
He is survived by his wife Mary Sandra Adcox, son Henry L. Adcox III, daughters Rebecca Jean Cann & Marilyn Jo Noble, step-son Michael P. Jordan, grandchildren Jennifer Adcox, Lesley Noble, Lisa Noble and Cassandra Jordan, and brother Billy Wayne Adcox.
Services will be held at Colonial Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs-Sprawl Rd, San Antonio, Tx on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
