Funeral services for Sybil Emma Gay, 98, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Edmonds and Rev. Steve Gilley. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.
Sybil was born June 15, 1914 in Coushatta, LA to Tom and Mattie Jones. She passed away on August 24, 2012 in Shreveport.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. Gay; sister, Thelma Jones; brothers, Fred Jones, Earl Jones, and Leon Jones; and great-grandson, Zach Murray. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy Gay and wife, Cindy; daughters, Betty Garcie, Peggy Lafitte and husband Jack, and Gloria Manning; grandchildren, Debbie Ebarb, Gordon Garcie, Cindy Myer, Steve Wyatt, Becky Murray, Donna Arnold, Lee Ann Gay, Mike Wyatt, and Mark Gay; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Sydney, Joely, Jason, Cody, Krystal, Lindsey, Chris, Stacey, Ryan, Mathew, Krystyn, Alexander, and Parker; great-great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jordon, Skylar, Sarah, Eli, Benet, Madison, Carter, and Landon; and brother, W.D.
