Then after 3 years on 12 April 1864 he joined
Company G of the 1st Georgia Cavalry and was
paroled 3 May 1865 at Charlotte North Carolina
and reported to Talladega 24 May 1865. The photo
was taken at the age of 18 in June 1864 when he
was issued a new uniform.
