In the death of John T. Sullivan, which occurred Sunday morning at his home in Buena Vista, that village lost one of its best known and most highly regarded citizens. Paralysis was the immediate cause of death.
Mr. Sullivan was stricken about two weeks ago and never recovered from it.
He had just eaten his breakfast yesterday morning and was sitting on the edge of his bed conversing with members of his family when he fell back dead, the final summons coming unexpectedly.

Mr. Sullivan was born in Ireland on January 21, 1842. He came to this country when a young man and settled in Buena Vista where he had always resided. His first wife was Mary Ellen Young who passed away September 13, 1898. She was the daughter of William and Minerva Young. In addition to
her husband she left the following children: Edward Maurice of Pittsburgh, John, William, Millie and Anna at home. Mr. Sullivan on January 29, 1900, married Sarah Dunn and she mourns the death of a loving husband. Mr. Sullivan for years looked after the Flagg Estate near Buena Vista and was
a man of wisdom and sound judgment. He was well known in this city, where the news of his passing away will be learned with regret.

Mr. Sullivan was honest as the day is long and was a man who had done much for Buena Vista where he was known best and loved most. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was formerly postmaster of Buena Vista.

The funeral services will be conducted from Buena Vista Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock and the last rites will be in charge of Father Theodosia of Ripley. Interment will be at Sandy Springs."
