Myron E. Hillmer who went by Michael Hillmer was born in Mason City Iowa but spent most of his childhood in Boone Iowa, graduating in the Boone High Class of 1938. He married Margarette Parr in 1942 and they had 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. They lived in Oregon during WW2 and Iowa, Chicago Illinois and cities around there after the war. Moving to Arizona in the late 1960s. Between then and 1996 the couple lived in Charleston South Carolina, Chattanooga Tenn., Jacksonville Beach Florida, Memphis Tenn,and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mike was a man of great humor, a Die Hard Cubs fan,and avid Pinochle Player. He instilled a love of animals and family history to his children, along with a love of books and learning, and is missed by his family. His ashes are buried along side his wife's Margarette Parr Hillmer.
