Blanche I. Nation, 93-year-old Nowata resident, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Medicalodge of Dewey.

Blanche Nation was born July 13, 1914 in Copan, Oklahoma to Frank E. Glatfelder and Mary Payne-Glatfelder. Mrs. Nation married Robert Lee Nation on June 29, 1933 in Bartlesville. After attending business school, Mrs. Nation worked for the Tag Office in Nowata and later for a title company in Bartlesville. She also later worked in the office for Forrest Oil and then worked with the Nowata Chamber of Commerce before her retirement. Mrs. Nation was an avid golfer and a long-time member of the Nowata Country Club. She also spent numerous hours volunteering at the Nowata County Historical Society Museum.

Mrs. Nation is survived by one daughter, Mary Kiser of Nowata; by four grandchildren; by six great-grandchildren; and by eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents, and by two brothers, George Glatfelder and Ross Glatfelder.
