Mrs. Zelmer Flood, 93, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, March 15, 1996, at Lutheran Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

A daughter of the late Benjamin and Allie Singleton Grindstaff, she was born May 2, 1902, in Clifton, Tenn.

On September 12, 1923, in Blytheville, Ark., she was united in marriage with Joe B. Flood, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the General Baptist Church in Denton, Mo. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Flood leaves two sons: Joe E. Flood of Cape Girardeau and Bobby G. Flood of Sparks, Nev.; One brother, Kit Grindstaff, of Granite City, Ill.; A sister, Lydia Beeson, of Baton Rouge, La.; Six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Flood were held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 1996, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, with Rev. Vernon Reaves officiating.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Glen Griffin, Billy Williams, Turner Gillette, Jerry Green, Clarence Williams, and Gary Hicks.
