Evelyn M. (Sherbine) Lane, 88, formerly of Stonybrook Drive in West Norriton, passed away at Brittany Pointe Estates, Saturday, July 11, 2009, where she resided for the last 11 years. She was the wife of the late George R. Lane who passed away in 2002. Born August 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Clara (Larson) Sherbine of Summer Hill. She was a graduate of Presbyterian School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and worked as a registered nurse prior to becoming a fulltime mother and homemaker. Evelyn was a member of Lower Skippack Mennonite Church and more recently attended religious services at Brittany Pointe Estates. At Brittany Pointe Estates, she took great joy in being a new resident "Shepherd", playing bingo, and making jewelry. She was a member of the Presbyterian School of Nursing Alumni Association, and enjoyed studying her Bible and completing crossword puzzles. Surviving are two children, Robert A. Lane and his wife, Patricia A. (Perna), of Harleysville, and Kerry D. McBee and her husband, Robert K., of Hermitage, TN; three grandchildren, Kelly A. Poehlmann, Kurstan A. Lane, and Christopher R. McBee; and three great -grandsons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Elijah Poehlmann. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Sherbine. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 1:30PM Sunday, August 23, at Brittany Pointe Estates, Oakbridge Terrace, 1001 Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, where friends will be received at 1PM. Services will begin around 1:30PM. Interment will be private at Lower Skippack Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to her favorite charities, Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila.
