Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley for Irene M. Gard, age 73, who passed away Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Eden Valley. Irene was born Nov. 28, 1938 in Eden Valley to John & Marie (Brinker) Theis. She married John Gard on May 19, 1958. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Artichoke Lake. Irene enjoyed embroidery, walking, exercising, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter and son, Cheryl (Darrell) Causey of Humble, TX and Duke (Charlotte) Gard of Las Cruces, NM; sisters and brothers, Mary Lou Rose of Palmer, AK, John (Dianna) Theis of Paynesville, R`onald (Cleo) Theis of Montevideo and Judy Martinson of Eden Valley; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sisters, Bernice Mills, Catherine Berg, Lucille Blomker and Beatrice Eckhoff; and brothers, Franklin, Elmer and Louie Theis.
