Mrs. Susannah Elizabeth Workman, 81 years of age, died at 5:40 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Cleo Workman, 725 Neosho.

Mrs. Workman was born July 12, 1860 in Half Rock, Mo., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Burress. The family came to Lyon County in 1867, settling in the Lakeside district southwest of Emporia. She was married to David Riley Workman, January 16, 1876. Mr. Workman died February 15, 1940.

Mrs. Workman is survived by three sons, Fredrick Workman, 1022 Merchant; Clifford Workman, who lives on Route 3 southwest of Emporia, and Cleo Workman, 725 Neosho; a brother, John Burress, Emporia; two sisters, Mrs. Mackey Garriott, Trenton, Mo., and Mrs. Ida Whitney, Sioux Falls, S. Dak.; seven grandchildren, Leland Workman, Mrs. Marie Austin Albion, Leonard Workman, Mrs. Laura Shoeck, Mrs. Lena Robinson, Clifford Smith and Catherine Smith, and 10 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Della May Austin, died October 14, 1934.

Mrs. Workman was a member of the Friends church and of the Emporia Women's Relief Corps.
