Mrs. Alche Herrington passed to the great beyond on Thursday morning, February 18th of acute bronchitis. Mrs. Herrington was the last surviving member of 14 children born to David and Sylvia Cronkhite Case, She was born at Pittstown, N.Y. on February 21, 1842 and was married to Wm. H. Herrington on October 16, 1860. Mr. Herrington died February 27, 1917. They came to LaGrange in 1867 and Mrs. Herrington was baptized and joined the LaGrange Baptist church in 1868. Seven children were born to this union, an infant boy died in 1862, Gracie, Frankie and Arthur died within 11 days in February 1877 of diphtheria and Mrs. Bertha Kenna died in May 1891. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Milo Jeffers of Castile and Miss Julia Herrington who has cared for her mother so tenderly and patiently for a number of years. one granddaughter, Mrs. John Worden and six great grand children of Oklahoma.
Funeral services where held Sunday afternoon at her home. Burial in the LaGrange cemetery.
