After the war he migrated into Ohio. He was married Feb. 28, 1832, in Muskingom Co., Ohio, to Mary Ann Wood. This was probably not his first marriage, and may not have been her first, either. She was born in Massachusetts, about 1811. A young man, Jonathan Wood, age 20, was residing with her and Henry in 1850, possibly her son from a prior marriage.
Henry and Mary had a dozen people in their 1840 household in Muskingom Co., plus one free adult male of color. They moved near to Columbus, Indiana in the 1840s. A daughter, Mary Malinda Bryant, married John Cunningham, August 9, 1849; two other sons were residing with the family in 1850, William H., and Robert Bryant.
In 1870, Henry was still residing in Columbus Township, with an overflowing household of nine people: himself, perhaps a young wife Mariah Bryant, plus Samuel Bryant, ten years younger than Henry--possibly a brother or cousin--as well as a young adult woman, Rebecca Bryant, and five teenagers and children with a variety of surnames and unknown connections.
Henry's insolvent estate was closed in 1878, no heirs named because mortgages and debts exceeded the assets. Samuel Bryant died in 1887 in Knox Co., Ohio.
