Neita M. Porter, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Apache Creek, NM on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Neita was born in Tahoka, TX on November 23, 1916 to Arch Evander and Maudie Mae (Ellis) McPhaul. Neita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Porter, her son, Clinton Leon Porter, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Neita was a life long resident of Catron County. Neita enjoyed teaching at numerous schools in her early years. Neita was a devoted member of the Reserve Presbyterian Community Church. Neita enjoyed reading and working in her yard. More than anything, "Grammie" loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family meant so much to her and she loved spending time with them. Neita is survived by her devoted daughter, Deon Julian and her husband, Albert, her grandchildren, Charles Porter and his wife Brenda, Steve Porter and his wife, Bobbi, Travis Julian and his wife, Jane,; Brad Julian, Jay Todd Julian and his wife, Angie and Chanda Cox and her husband, Keith, her daughter-in-law, Janet Porter-Carrejo and her son-in-law, Darrell Julian. Neita also enjoyed eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Reserve Presbyterian Community Church at a later date, as arrangements are still pending at this time.
