WILLIAM JOHNSON (sic) IS LATEST VICTIM:
Well-Known Real Estate Man Dead of Spanish Influenza
W.E. Johnson (sic), 447 Albert Street, of the Elmer Webb Company, died Friday afternoon following a two week illness of Spanish Influenza which turned into pneumonia.
Mr. Johnston had been with the Webb company for the past three years as a salesman. He was 32 years of age, and widely know about the city. He is survived by the widow and two children, a boy and a girl. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.

William C. Johnston, a former Philipsburg boy, died at his home in Lima, Ohio on October 12, from pneumonia, following a week's sickness of Spanish influenza. He was born and raised in Centre County, having spent his boyhood days in Philipsburg. The Lima Star says of him:
"W.E. Johnston, prominent real estate man, and enthusiastic worker in every civic or patriotic endeavor of the city, died at his home, 449 Albert Street, as the result of an attack of Spanish influenza.
Mr. Johnsotn was connected with the Elmar D. Webb Company, and was head of the central office where he had charge of some of the heaviest deals until recently, when he was put at hte head of an insurance organizating department, and in which capacity he was making a wonderful record. He was also secretary-treasurer of the Lima Investment Company an organization fo South Side business men, who have dealth extensively the past year in buying, repairing and building resirence property in South Lima.
He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus and the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Beacon Johnston, one son Clair, and one daughter, Lenore. Also his father John C. Johnston of Grampian, Pennsylvania, five brothers, John P. of Clearfield; Patrick H. of Grampian, and three in the service of their country - Joseph who is in France, James at Camp Jackson and George in Camp Syracuse, New York. Also four sisters, Mrs. Fred George of Lima, Ohio, Mrs. James McDermott and Mrs. George Shields, Curwensville, PA., and Mrs. Calvin Newcomer of Latrobe, PA."

Funeral Services for W. E. Johnson (sic), 449 East Albert Street, who died on Thursday of pneumonia, super-induced by Spanish Influenza were held at the home Monday morning at nine o'clock, Rev. Father Mizer officiating. Interment was made in Gethsemani. Mr. Johnson (sic) was a member of the Elmer D. Webb Company, real estate dealers.

Death at Dayton, Ohio of Former Resident (mistake in paper, as he was from Lima)
William Johnston, aged about 25 years died at Dayton, Ohio on Friday from an attack of influenza. A telegram announcing his death was received by relatives here this morning. The body will likely be brought here for burial. (again paper error he was buried in Ohio).
The young man, who was a son of J.C. Johnston now residing in Clearfield, was a native of Philipsburg, the family living on North Third Street for a number of years. His mother has been dead for some years, but besides his father a number of brothers and sisters and a wife and two daughters survive. (Paper error, he had a wife, daughter and a son).
For several years the deceased was in the insurance business, but after going to Dayton engaged in the real estate business.

He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He is survived by his wife Violet Beacon Johnston, one son, Clair, and one daughter Lenore. Also his father John C. Johnston of Grampian, Pennsylvania, five brothers, John P. of Clearfield, PA., Patrick H. of Grampian, and three in the service of their country, Joseph who is in France, James at Camp Jackson, S.C., and George at Camp Syracuse, N.Y. Also four sisters, Mrs. Fred George of Lima, Ohio, Mrs. James McDermott and Mrs. George Shields of Curwensville, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Cal Newcomer of Latrobe, Pa. His mother died three years ago.
The deceased was always interested in his old home and was a constant reader of the Daily Journal.
