Ruth F. McGinness, 83, passed away Aug. 21, 2012, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, KS. She was born near Peabody, the daughter of Cornelius and Bertha Wall Klein. She graduated from Peabody High School and attended Kansas State University. On Aug. 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to Edward W. McGinness; their family grew to include two children: David and Marilee. She was a homemaker and had worked as a para-professional for over 10 years for the Marion County Special Education Cooperative. She was active in Aulne United Methodist Church; the UMW, where she had served as past president for their church and the district; and she had been a 4-H leader. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lucille Hett and Kenneth Klein. Mrs. McGinness is lovingly survived by her husband Ed; her son, David and wife Brenda McGinness of Hillsboro; her daughter, Dr. Marilee McGinness of Mission Hills; her brother Bud and wife Marjorie Klein of Wichita; her granddaughter JoAnna and husband Matt Dent of Hesston; and great-grandchildren: Jacob and Emma. Visitation with family will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Funeral Service to be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Aulne United Methodist Church, Aulne. Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial fund established for Aulne United Methodist Church, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
