George Ray brought his family to Baylor County on 14 February 1880. They first settled at Round Timbers, but soon bought and settled on land west of Seymour, Texas. After 10 years of farming, the moved to Seymour, Texas, living a number of years in the stone house near the Valley Freight Station. Later, the purchased property in southeast Seymour, Texas.
